"City of Kansas City" Print
When the Wabash Railroad was preparing to launch the streamliner "The City of Kansas City" in 1947 they issued a linen postcard to commemorate the event. Not only was this the first intra-state Wabash streamlined train to serve Missouri, the handsome new seven car daily also introduced the beloved "tri-color" scheme to Wabash locomotives. The WRHS has reproduced this historic postcard as a 13" x 19" art print on heavy paper with a one-half inch white border, perfect for framing and hanging on the wall in your den or train room.

Industries in St. Louis
A 2014 reproduction of a Wabash track map with the names of hundreds of lineside industries in the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County in the 1950s. This item is printed in color on 18" x 9.5" thick, slick paper, ideal for framing. A rare logo with a tri-color F-7 and a flag banner adorn the document.

"Moberly, Missouri...the Magic City and her Railroads" DVD
This newly-produced DVD, which outlines the history of one of the most quintessential Wabash towns and its relationship with both its railroads, is nearly 2 hrs. in length. Containing both black & white AND color images (some of which have not been seen publicly), this DVD is a ‘must-have’ for Wabash and Katy Railroad buffs, as well as historians interested in following the transportation evolution of north central Missouri from the days when river transportation ruled, up to current times where the quickest way to transport automobiles and their components between Detroit and Kansas City was through the “Magic City”: Moberly, Missouri. This title is available in the following versions: DVD-computer only (great resolution); DVD-players (good resolution)...and now available in Blu-Ray* (excellent resolution) version!

Ann Arbor C-2 No. 1520 chuffs around the yard in this undated view. Two Annie 0-8-0s were transferred to Moberly Yard to switch local industries located on tight curves. The 0-8-0 tended to remained on track better than other switchers. Photographer unknown.
Baldwin D-12 switcher No. 307 pushes streamlined caboose No. 2833 back into the yard in this pre-1963 view taken by local Judge Richard B. Chamier.
This John D. Robertson view of the (from left) machine shop with its yard tower, the 1951-era diesel shop, 2-stall steam locomotive repair shop and the sole remaining roundhouse stall looks to the northwest. It dates from the N&W-era.
Newspapers of the day were full of stories of workers being killed & maimed while crossing the yard tracks on their daily commute. So, in 1899 the railroad erected this walkway bridge over the yard tracks for the shop workers. This is the only known view of this bridge, which was removed sometime prior to 1923. Photographer unknown.
Just as God and EMD intended, near the Moberly coaling tower in the early 1950s sits this as-delivered set of F7 diesel freight locomotives. Originally numbered 1104-1104A-1104B when they were delivered in March, 1949, the units were later split and renumbered in 1963. 1104 then became 617, 1104A became 618 and 1104B became 604. Wabash "Blue Bird" print
This color repro print of the pose of the Wabash "Blue Bird" in Forest Park, St. Louis (see pic) is a whopping 24" x 18"; perfect for framing and display in your train room. The identical original print was most often seen hanging on the wall of many a Wabash depot back in the day, and was great advertising for the railroad.

"Wabash Memories" DVD
This 30-minute DVD consists of half-B&W, half-color home movies taken mostly on the Wabash's Fourth District between Chicago and Montpelier, Ohio, with loading/unloading of LCL freight, MoW and wrecks. Also included is movie footage of Landers Yard, as well as the Blue Bird passenger train. This work was graciously donated by Victor Baird and Larry Lett to raise money for the WRHS Restoration Fund. All proceeds go towards that purpose.

Two F-7 diesels are the power for a work train on the 4th District.
This view of the Wabash's Landers Yard was filmed from the yard tower; we are looking east, towards Western Ave. and the connection with Pennsy/B&OCT at Forest Hill.
The distinctive Dome-Observation car No. 1601 of the Blue Bird makes up the tail end of the inbound train as it skirts the north edge of Landers Yard.
Oak Lawn depot print
This painting, titled "Summer of '48, Oak Lawn, Illinois," was commissioned by our late friend Dick Kuelbs and painted by John Winfield of Fort Worth, Texas. The image is approximately 13 by 26 inches, suitable for framing, and is printed on 15-by-28-inch paper. Mailed in a tube.
